holidays 2

New toys for Swann, still a lot of leftovers in the fridge from the birhtday party, and a super tired mama. The kids had so much fun yesterday, and Swann had a great day, feeling all proud and happy when we all sang happy birthday for him. He is starting to walk more and more on his own and it's so adorable to watch.

One night last week, we had a talk Earl, me, and the kids (not including Swann of course, who was alseep) because there was a lot of stress going on here and a few arguments we all could have lived without. Florina suggested that we do more things together, as a family. So more things we did (although unfortunately Earl had to work and couldn't always come with us), and in the end, as exhausted as I am now, I agreee that it was a good thing to get out more.

Today we went to the Bois de Vincennes with my sister, my sister-in-law, and their kids. As you can see, Florina had a cotton candy (isn't that extremely good?). In French, we call that une Barbe à Papa, which literally means  Daddy's beardMy nefew, who just turned three and who had never tried a cotton candy before, kept looking at her with a funny look as she was eating hers. And then, with a hint of contempt in his voice, he whispered to her: "You're eating — beard?" It just cracked me up.

I hope you are all enjoying your holidays or weekends. I don't expect to have much time to blog this week, but I'll try...

Wow look at that candy floss! I used to love watching them make it, it just kind of grows as that spinner goes round, yummy too! Lucky Florina : )

Polly: yes it's kind of fascinating how they make them!
